LiDAR Survey & 3D Mapping

Dense 3D point clouds that show true ground level, even under vegetation.

What it is

Photogrammetry sees the top of whatever it photographs. LiDAR fires laser pulses that pass between leaves and return from the ground beneath, which makes it the right tool for vegetated land, corridors and complex structures where a camera alone falls short.

Where it is used

  • Terrain mapping under tree cover
  • Transmission line and corridor surveys
  • Road, rail and canal alignment studies
  • Mine and quarry modelling

Our approach

We recommend LiDAR only where it earns its cost. For open, bare sites photogrammetry is often enough, and we will tell you so.

How the work runs

  1. 01

    Understand

We learn what you need to decide, measure or prove, and which outputs will get you there.

  2. 02

    Plan

We design the mission: platform, sensor, flight plan, ground control and the permissions the site requires.

  3. 03

    Capture

Our pilots fly the site and check data quality before leaving the field.

  4. 04

    Process

Raw data becomes maps, models, measurements and findings, checked against control.

  5. 05

    Deliver

You receive reports and files in the formats your team uses, with a walkthrough of the results.

Questions about lidar survey & 3d mapping

More answers in our drone services FAQ.

When should I choose LiDAR over photogrammetry?

Choose LiDAR when the ground is hidden by vegetation, when you need to capture thin features such as wires, or when terrain is complex. For open sites, photogrammetry usually gives the result at lower cost.

What do I receive from a LiDAR survey?

A classified point cloud plus derived products such as a terrain model, contours and sections, in formats your design software reads.
